Holy Orders

What is vocation?
The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend offer many resources if you are interested in learning more.

First, all are called to holiness, rejecting sin and loving God with our entire heart, body, and soul. Within this universal call to holiness, God creates each person for a specific purpose, reason or mission. This is our vocation; a vocation is a gift from God, a plan or “calling” from our heavenly Father. A vocation is God’s invitation or calling to each individual to love and serve Him and His Church in a particular state or way of life.
Little Flower Holy Hour
Join the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South bend for a Little Flower Holy Hour for vocations. Sponsored by the Vocations Office, this monthly event is held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the St. Mother Theodore Guerin Chapel next to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne. Each month is led by a different diocesan priest or deacon.

Ordination to the priesthood is always a call and a gift from God. Christ reminded his Apostles that they needed to ask the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into the harvest.
